About YKM Holdings International Limited

YKM Holdings International is an investment company holding investments on behalf of the YK Modi family, a leading Indian business family with a range of mainly industrial assets.

Investments by the family include a majority holding in Great Eastern Energy Corporation Limited (GEECL), an Indian based company which earned the distinction of being the first privately held Indian company to be listed on AIM on the London Stock Exchange in 2005. GEECL is involved in the exploration, development & production of Coal Bed Methane (CBM) gas in the Raniganj coalfields in the state of West Bengal, India.

Yogendra Kumar Modi is Chairman & Managing Director of GEECL while Prashant Modi is the Company President & Chief Operating Officer; Prashant Modi involvement in GEECL primarily focuses on the operational and development side of the Company.

Commenting, Prashant Modi, said

“Natural resources are a key part of the future development of the Indian economy and within that coal bed methane is a key element. India has limited domestic natural oil and gas resources and so over recent years the economy has been forced to be dragged in imported resources. This has had a corresponding impact on the countries balance of payments and the cost of raw materials”.

Other investments held by this holding company include a range of emerging market investments through specialised financial instruments with the aim of maximising returns with the minimum risk.

This vehicle's strategy is to expand the entire value chain to cover upstream, midstream and down stream investments. Prashant Modi is leading this effort on our behalf and we are constantly on the look out for opportunities worldwide.

Mr Yogendra Kumar Modi is the promoter and Director of YKM Holdings International Limited, and also the Chairman and Managing Director of GEECL . He is past President of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and is also the immediate Past President of the International Chamber of Commerce - India .

Prashant Modi is also a promoter and Director of YKM Holdings International as well as the President & Chief Operating Officer of GEECL.
